Apologies for the title. Yes, it helped to grab your attention. And no, we didn’t support the guy during the election and definitely no – we will not “just get along” now that he’s made it to the top. Instead we will fight harder than ever before to protect the planet and reduce our consumption of natural resources and toxic emissions. It might even make the RoW (rest of world = everyone outside of the rust belt) more united in fighting the good fight.

Whatever else March is, it certainly can’t be accused of being uneventful for UK start-ups. Last week’s budget proved promising for the community, highlighting the government’s intention to provide further investment and support to drive growth for small businesses around the country.

Location, as they say, can be everything. To accelerate growth in the North, the budget outlined an £11 million investment in government support for the development of tech incubators in Manchester, Leeds and Sheffield – which will undoubtedly help drive further innovation across the country, and is a move that is symbiotic to our own efforts to encourage innovation, entrepreneurship and collaboration across the UK, particularly through our National Virtual Incubator programme.

We’ve previously looked at how we will be supporting our users’ access to high quality data by simplifying data acquisition through out of the box integration with hardware and other data providers. Since then, we’ve been hard at work extending this capability and have now over a dozen data sources available, with many more already in the pipeline.
